The Seasons
The Lake Sunapee Region... a scenic, four-season, outdoor playground and a center for culture, learning and the arts

The Lake Sunapee region is named for the spectacular lake and the mountain that rises from its southern shore. Nine miles long and three miles wide, Lake Sunapee is crystal clear and sparkling clean. The lake's rocky shore with its three working lighthouses is broken by wonderful sandy beaches, most notably the public beach at Mt. Sunapee State Park, a four-minute walk from Sunapee Lake Lodge.

You can swim in the clear, cool water, sail in the steady, gentle breeze, or fish for salmon, trout, perch and bass in waters that can reach as deep as 100 feet. Rent a boat or windsurfer, or ride one of the cruise ships that tour the lake. Hike the well-marked trails on Mt. Sunapee. In winter, the mountain is one of the most popular ski areas in northern New England, while each August the State Park is the site for the nation's oldest crafts event, the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen's Fair.
